Artwork Requirements
Any art that requires “touch up” work, redrawing, color separating, etc. will be billed at $100 (C) per hour. Customer will be notified in advance if art did not meet specifications and will incur a charge to correct. Note: Delivery schedule may change depending on the quality of the artwork submitted.
General
- Art will be kept on file for 24 months from original order
- Always include a hard copy of your artwork with your purchase order via fax, email or mail
- Flat art and/or discs will not be returned unless a stamped, self-addressed envelope is provided
- Art may be resized to best fit imprint area, unless otherwise indicated. If art cannot be resized, it should be clearly noted when submitting
- Small symbols, such as ®, ©, TM, SM may not be legible when printed

Electronic Art

- Include company name, contact information and PO# ONLY (Purchase order details and inquiries should be sent to Promo@DixonUSA.com)
- Emailed art will be acknowledged only if there is a problem with the art.
- Software: Adobe Illustrator CS5 or earlier versions.
- Art should be provided in Vector format (i.e. outlined or traced art created using programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand or Corel Draw – not imported).
- Art should be saved as an Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file, Encapsulated Postscript (.eps) file or PDF (.pdf) file.
- All fonts should be converted to outlines or curves (depending on program) for all formats, including PDF files.
- JPG, GIF and other low resolution files will not be accepted.
- Art should be black and white only. Please indicate imprint color(s) on PO.
- Multi-color imprints require color separations for each color, with registration marks and color copy for reference.
- Halftones or gradients will not be accepted
- Avoid placing, embedding, nesting, locking layers or importing files into your artwork.
- Check for thin lines & small text. All text should be 6 points or larger and lines should be at least .25 points or larger at 100% imprint size.
- Bitmap images can only be used if submitted as an original high-quality, high-resolution file saved as a black and white TIFF (.tif) file with a 50% threshold and a minimum of 300 dpi (600 dpi preferred).
Camera Ready Art
- Art must be black and white “line art” with very clean, crisp lines that will be easy to scan and reproduce without clean-up.
- Halftones or gradients will not be accepted.
- Multi-color imprints require color separations for each color, with registration marks and a color copy for reference.
- Check for thin lines and small text. All text should be points or larger and lines should be at least .25 points or larger at 100% imprint size.
- Art must be flat and no larger than 8” x 14”
Acceptable formats
- PMT or STAT (photographic) paper, laser prints on high quality smooth paper.
- 600 dpi resolution or higher at 200 magnification.
Not acceptable formats
- Inkjet prints, faxes, copies of faxes, products with curved or rough surfaces (business cards, letterhead)
